Tots Carlos filled the stats sheet once again to lead Creamline on the cusp of another championship appearance after sweeping Cignal, 25-17, 25-15, 25-22, Monday in the round robin PVL Invitational Conference semifinals at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The reigning Open Conference Most Valuable Player dropped 21 points off 18 attacks, two kill blocks and an ace while chipping in 11 digs for the Cool Smashers’ third win in as many games in the semis.
Creamline will close its semis campaign on Friday against guest team KingWhale Taipei.
Jema Galanza added 11 points while team captain Alyssa Valdez had a quiet nine points on offense but was pivotal on the Cool Smashers floor defense with 16 digs as Creamline exacted revenge over its elimination round tormentor.
“We played better than what we showed when we faced them in Sta. Rosa. Tonight we fought as team,” said Valdez.
The HD Spikers dropped to a 1-2 slate.
Roselyn Doria and Ces Molina finished with eight points each as no Cignal player reached in double figures.
