Winning the title will be the top priority when RSG PH marches to the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines Season 11 on Friday.
RSG PH head coach Brian “Panda” Lim said they are focused on winning the crown despite the absence of key players Arvie “Aqua” Antonio and Jonard Cendrix “Demonkite” Caranto, who decided to take a breather.
Without his original cast, Panda stressed that he has to work hard to build their team chemistry and make them a force to be reckoned against other quality teams like former world champion Blacklist International, ECHO, Nexplay EVOS and Bren Esports.
Panda said former Nexplay star John Paul “H2wo” Salonga will fill the jungle position left by Demonkite while the rest of the crew in Dylan Aaron “Light” Poblete Catipon, Eman “EMANN” Llanda Sangco, Salvick “Kouzen” Guiyab Tolarba, Nathanael “Nathzz” Sumpay Estrologo, Jann Kirk “Kirk” Solcruz Gutierrez and Dexter “Exort” Piedad Martinez will have to step up if they want to win the MPL title.
“This season, our dynamic, of course, will change because we have two new starting players in Exort and H2wo. That doesn’t necessarily make us weak, but we still need time to adjust so right now I’m not really focused on protecting the (Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup) crown,” said Panda, admitting that their campaign this season will not be easy.
“The truth is, it is the same with Blacklist. For example, if Blacklist does not have its original members, the power spike goes down. That is a definite fact even in any other team.”
He added that achieving team chemistry will be very challenging.
“I’m focused on how I can have the perfect five players that I need to have the best chemistry together so that we can have a good season together,” he said.
“I just want a good season with no drama, no toxic, everyone doing their best and with their best effort instead of just getting lucky.”
Panda stressed that they will shoot for the Southeast Asia crown should their Season 11 campaign become fruitful.
“If we become champion, okay let’s go for MSC,” he said.
“I just want this story to be a good chapter for RSG.”
