Kaya FC-Iloilo finally captured the elusive PFF Women’s League title after a 1-0 win over Manila Digger FC in the final at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium Saturday evening.
With the majority of the match going scoreless, Nicole Ramores was at the right place at the right time to score for Kaya in the 86th minute for the lone goal of the game.
Kaya is also the first club team to win the tournament as La Salle still holds the most PFF Women’s League titles with three.
Meanwhile, Far Eastern University took the bronze medal after beating the Lady Archers, 2-1.
Carmela Archie got things going after scoring in the 34th minute for an early lead before Angelica Tevez converted a penalty kick to make it 1-1 in the 49th minute.
FEU team captain Dionesa Tolentin broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute and never looked back.
Nomads FC received the Fair Play award.
Isabela Bandoja of Tuloy FC shared the Golden Boot award with La Salle’s Tevez after scoring 19 goals this season while Ayishatu Simpson of Manila Digger bagged the Golden Glove honors.
Jonella Albino of FEU received the Best Defender Award while Bhebe Lemoran of Kaya was named as the competition’s Best Midfielder.
Shelah Mae Cadag was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
