Phoenix Super LPG has nothing to be ashamed of despite losing to Magnolia in a tough seminal battle in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup late Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Hotshots coach Jamike Jarin said he is proud of his wards knowing that they gave their all in the best-of-five series that reached four games.
“We are proud of everybody. From the players, the management and the coaches, you have to be proud of people in the organization,” Jarin said following their 79-89 setback that denied them the chance of facing San Miguel Beer in the best-of-seven final series.
“We played and gave our best. We just came up short but we will be back next conference.”
With their campaign done, Jarin expects the team to stay competitive in preparation for their next mission, the Philippine Cup.
The crew of Jason Perkins, Ricci Rivero, Tyler Tio, and Sean Manganti are expected to stick around and lead Phoenix in its hunt for its first ever PBA crown.
“The fairytale continues. This is just the first chapter so we got to the second chapter. We have a lot of things to look forward to,” Jarin said.
“Last conference, we were at eighth now we finished fourth. Hopefully, we will be able to cut it in half and finish at the top two.”
