Most Valuable Player frontrunner Amiel Acido showed his might, delivering a double-double performance for the Junior Altas, who wrapped up the eliminations with an 8-1 win-loss card to secure the incentive heading into the next round.
This is the first time for the Junior Altas to advance to the Final Four since 2010 with Tonichi Pujante as head coach and Gelo Alolino, Joseph Ariobu, Mark Bitoy, Joel Brito, Flash Sadiwa, Axel Iñigo as key players.
Acido fired 23 points, 20 rebounds and five assists while JD Pagulayan top scored with 25 points to underscore the Junior Altas’ balanced offensive attack.
Lebron Daep fired 16 pts, nine rebs, two blocks and an assist, while Mark Gojo Cruz chipped in 11 pts, six boards, five assists, two blocks and a steal, and Aries Borja added 11 pts and three rebounds.
