EJ Obiena bagged the silver medal in the Monaco Diamond League at Stade Louis-II in Fontvieille, Monaco early Saturday, 22 July.
Obiena prevailed over Kurtis Marschall of Australia via countback after both pole vaulters tallied 5.82m.
In a twist of events, Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Christopher Nilsen of the United States emerged as the winner of the meet after going over his season-best 5.92.
Meanwhile, world champion Armand Duplantis of Sweden found himself in a three-way tie at fourth place with American pole vaulter Sam Kendricks and Bo Kanda Lite Baehre of Germany after posting 5.72m.
Norway’s Pal Haugen Lillefosse also got 5.72m but settled for eight place due to countback.
Thiabut Collet of France and American Zach McWhorter were tied at ninth place after both athletes went over 5.62m.
French pole vaulter and London Olympics gold medalist Renaud Lavillenie, Ben Broeders of Belgium and Norwegian Somdre Guttormsen shared the tenth spot after only making it past 5.42m.
