Lucas de Guzman dominated the Boys’ 7-under title in the US Kids regional Championships at Glenmarie Golf Course in Selangor, Malaysia.
That allowed him to compete in the US Kids World Championship on 1-3 August in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
He is son of JGFP director Lue de Guzman and Rommel de Guzman.
It was big boost for De Guzman’s young golf career although he has been consistent champion in the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.
Over the past three days in Malaysia, De Guzman scored two-over, three-over and one-under to capture the title.
Training under the watchful eye of renowned coach Artemio Murakami, De Guzman is at Grade 2 at Home School Global. Murakami joined him in Malaysia.
Among his playing partners here in the country is fellow champion, Srixon Junior winner Marc Kristoffer Nadales.
