Magnolia survived TNT Tropang Giga’s late scare to book a 92-88 win in Game 2 of their PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven semifinal series Friday night, 5 August at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Mark Barroca and Calvin Abueva nailed crucial free throws in the final seconds as the Hotshots escaped the Tropang Giga and tie their semifinal duel to 1-1.

Barroca led Magnolia with 22 points and five rebounds, Ian Sangalang had 20 points and eight boards and Calvin Abueva delivered 18 markers and eight boards.

Mikey Williams scored 14 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter, but TNT failed to complete their comeback attempt after going down by as much as 19 points in the second half.
