Veewise back with a bang

The dynamic duo of Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie James “Wise” del Rosario is back with a bang after leading Blacklist International to a perfect start in the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines Season 10 over the weekend.

Fondly called as Veewise, the real-life couple was at its best, carrying Blacklist to a strong start in a bid to regain the title after skipping Season 9 to take a breather from their taxing Esports commitments, including the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi.

Without the pair, Blacklist was sent crashing and even fell short of qualifying for the Playoffs.

Yet, despite its brief time away from competitive scene, Veewise showed no rust in its game and even brought in a new tank jungler meta to MPL when it pulled off a come-from-behind win over Omega Esports, 2-0, to power Blacklist to a sizzling start.

The game already looked all but lost for Blacklist, but OhMyV33nus made the right shot calls to help the two-time MPL champion make an epic comeback.

“It was exciting to be back, but, in the first place, I never left,” OhMyV33nus said after prevailing over fan-favorite Nexplay EVOS in the opening day.

He added that they just waited for Omega Esports to commit mistakes before pulling off the victory.

“We were confident that we can win Game 2, especially because we have Xavier and Beatrix. But we just waited for the opportunity for them to make a mistake,” OhMyV33nus said after winning over Omega Esports.

Prior to bowing to Blacklist, Omega Esports pulled off an early upset as it prevailed over defending champion RSG PH in the opening match last Friday.

Composed of Patrick James “E2MAX” Caidic, Dean “Raizen” Sumagui, Grant Duane “Kelra” Pillas, Renz “Renzio” Cadua, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, Kiel VJ “Kielvj” Cruzem, Omega Esports stunned RSG PH with an impressive 2-0 sweep on Day 1.

“Against RSG PH we are yet to win a series ever. We prepared really hard knowing that they are our first opponent in the season,” Omega Esports coach Jomie “Pakbet” Abalos said.

“I feel like I only have a few seasons left (in my Esports career) that is why this season I want for us to go all in,” Omega’s team captain E2MAX added.
