Juvic Pagunsan birdied the ninth, his final hole, to salvage one under par 71 in the second round of the International Series Singapore Championship at the Tanah Merah Country Club’s Tampines course in Singapore Friday.
After opening with a 67, Pagunsan wrestled with consistency at the back where he started.
He birdied 10 but made back-to-back bogeys from 12. After making his second birdie on 14, he dropped a shot on the next hole before regaining the stroke on 9.
Pagunsan cruised with eight straight pars before finishing with a birdie.
Miguel Tabuena was the next best Filipino scorer at the clubhouse despite a 73.
He began with a double bogey on the first hole and dropped another stroke on 4.
Pagunsan finished 36 holes on 6-under par.
Tabuena bounced back with birdies on 9 and 11 before he bogeyed 14 and birdied 15.
Angelo Que and Justin Quiban were still out on the course.
American Gavin Green was the clubhouse leader on 14-under after a second straight 65.
Thai Phachara Khongwatmai was three shots adrift on 11-under following a 66 while England’s Steve Lewton was running third on 9-under after a 68.
