Jema Galanza and Tots Carlos led the Philippines’ entry to the quarterfinals after a quick work of a young South Korea team, 25-18, 25-13, 25-17, Thursday night in the Asian Volleyball Confederation Cup for Women at the Philsports Arena.

The power-hitting duo combined for 19 attacks in the host squad’s one-hour, 20-minute demolition of the Koreans to close Pool A with a 2-2 win-loss record.

Finishing at no. 3, the Philippines will take on Southeast Asian powerhouse Thailand in the knockout stage Friday.
