Lloyd Jefferson Go settled for a share of second place after a closing one-under-par 71 in the BNI Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament ADT 2022 at the Damai Indah Golf course in Indonesia Saturday.
Starting the day with a two-shot lead, Go was three-under through eight holes before he dropped four shots in the next five holes.
He bogeyed 9 and 10, and dropped two shots on the par-5 13th hole to go 1-over for the day.
Birdies on 16 and 17 lifted the Filipino to 20-under, one shot behind Thai winner Suteepat Prateeptienchai who sizzled for 63.
Tied with Go were Malaysian Paul San and Thai Chonlatit Chuenboonngam who shot 68 and 69, respectively.
American Sam Gillis was alone in fifth spot on 19-under after a 68 while Australian Cory Crawford placed sixth on 16-under following a 67.
Sharing seventh on 15-under were Japanese Shinichi Mizuno and Australian Jack Murdoch who carded 67 and 69, respectively.
Clyde Mondilla tied for ninth on 14-under after closing with a 69.
Meanwhile, the Philippines slid to 28th place despite a slight improvement in the third round of the 29th Women’s World Amateur Team Championship in France Friday.
Mafy Singson produced her best round so far — a three-over-par 74 — to lead the Filipinas’ charge. She made three birdies against six bogeys.
Mikhaela Fortuna carded a 77 as the Filipinas combined for 151, two shots better than their second-round output.
Fortuna came undone by a triple bogey on 18 and a double bogey on 9. She made only one birdie while also collecting four bogeys.
On 20-over, the Filipinas trail solo leader Germany by 33 shots.
For the second straight day, Lois Kaye Go failed to count after limping home with 79, her round marred by four double bogeys.
In the individual race, Fortuna was the best-placed Filipina on 9-over, 16 shots behind Helen Briem of Germany.
Singson was 15-over while Go was 20-over.
