Powerhouse RSG PH scored a sweet revenge over Omega Esports via sweep last Friday in Week 5 of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines Season 10.
After blowing hot and cold in the early stretch of the regular season, RSG PH has finally started to find its rhythm as it booked a 2-0 victory over Omega Esports with three weeks before the Playoffs of this prestigious Mobile Legends tourney.
But what made the victory even sweeter was the fact that RSG pulled it off against a team that dealt its first loss of the season — Omega Esports.
RSG star jungler Jonard Cendrix “Demonkite” Caranto said their setback to Omega Esports opened their eyes and made them aware of the things they have to work on.
“We were so eager to win because we lost to them in our first match,” Demonkite said.
“We feel like we were not complete and something was lacking back then. We tried to find ourselves until we made it here to Week 5 and performed well against Omega.”
RSG PH coach Brian “Panda” Lim, meanwhile, admitted that Season 10 has been tough for them due to the changes in the competitive meta.
“I want to say that all teams might be stronger than us, but I want all teams to know that we are training very hard,” Panda said.
“While others are sleeping, we are training. We will do our best with no regrets.”
Panda admitted that he struggled with the changes.
“At the start of MPL, I did not know how to draft,” Panda added.
“The team was stuck in last season’s meta. Now that we are slowly adapting, we are trying to get our form back again.”
Meanwhile, Season 6 champion Bren Esports stretched its winning streak to three following impressive wins over Omega Esports, Nexplay EVOS and Onic PH.
After missing a spot in the Playoffs of MPL Seasons 8 and 9, Bren Esports head coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro said they are currently gunning for at least a top three finish in the regular season before heading into the Playoffs.
“They have been training really hard so that we could go up to top three this regular season,” said Duckeyyy, who guided Bren Esports to the title of the M2 World Championships.
“Historically speaking, nobody became a champion that was below the top three. We are targeting at least the top three. But it would be really nice if we get that top spot.”
