Juvic Pagunsan continued to display solid form, shooting a second-straight six-under-par 66 in the third round of the Panasonic Open golf championship at Ibaraki Country Club in Ibaraki, Japan Saturday.
The 44-year-old Filipino ace moved into 10th spot on 13-under, just three shots off the pace.
Pagunsan made four of his seven bogeys in the back nine against a lone bogey.
Justin de los Santos, the other Filipino in the field, returned a 68 behind eight birdies against four bogeys.
De los Santos sits on 9-under 207.
Three Japanese — Taiga Semikawa, Katsumasa Miyamoto and Tomoharu Otsuki — shared the lead on 16-under.
Semikawa torched the course with one eagle and nine birdies on his way to a tournament-best 61.
Miyamoto and Otsuki returned a 67 and 66, respectively.
Japanese Yuto Katsuragawa, who played for Manila Southwoods as an amateur, was in a tie for fourth on 15-under with compatriot Aguri Iwasaki.
Over in Taiwan, Justin Quiban shot three-under-par 69 to continue his climb in the leaderboard of the Yeangder TPC Championship at the Linkou International Golf Club.
Quiban collected four birdies against one bogey to sit on 8-under, good for a tie for 11th going into the final 18 holes on Sunday.
Miguel Tabuena slipped to 1-over after struggling with a 76. He made only two birdies against four bogeys and a double bogey.
Angelo Que, on the other hand, had only one birdie against four bogeys for 76.
Australian Travis Smith turned in a 66 and was alone on top on 13-under, two shots ahead of Bjorn Hellgren, Lee Chieh-po, Settee Prakongvech and Chapchai Nirat.
Meanwhile, Dottie Ardina hit all fairways on her way to two-under-par 70 at the start of the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout at the Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas.
The 28-year-old Filipina is tied for eighth place with six others, five shots behind American leader Bailey Tardy who had seven birdies in a bogey-free round.
Starting at the back, Ardina made a birdie-bogey start before knocking in birdies on 2 and 6.
Clarice Guce, fresh from a joint second place finish last week in the Guardian Championship, mixed two birdies with the same number of bogeys for a 72.
Pauline del Rosario, returning to the Epson Tour, had a roller-coaster round of four birdies and five bogeys to shoot a 73.
Abby Arevalo ballooned to an 80 after collecting four bogeys and a pair of double bogeys.
