Gary Sales fired a three-over-par 75 to win the overall low gross title in the final World Amateur Golf Championship qualifier at the Splendido Taal Golf Club in Laurel, Batangas Tuesday.
Danica Capco, on the other hand, was the overall low net champion after posting a 58.
Ivan Avena shot a 78 to rule Division 1, edging Eduardo Puyat by five shots. Chris Piala took third place with an 88.
In Division 2, Holer Mendoza carded a 72, nipping Anna Kei Fernandez by a single stroke. Third place went to Alvin Zamora who had a 76.
The other division winners:
Division 3 — Emmanuel James Castro 64, champion; Emmanuel Noel Juliano 67, runner-up (via countback); and Bobby Chico 67, third placer;
Division 4 — Josef Maganduga 68, champion; John Michael San Juan 69, runner-up; Robin Barreto 70, third placer;
Division 5 — Felix Dennis Cortez 64, champion; Grace Woo 66, runner-up; Ferdinand Capco 75, third placer;
Division 6 — Joana Pintoy 61, champion; Zeek Sanches 62, runner-up; Sha Castro 63, third placer.
The overall gross and low net champions and the top two finishers in each division advance to the national finals on Tuesday, 18 October.
