Four unbeaten teams part ways in a pair of matches that is tipped to go down the wire in the V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena in Manila today.
Ateneo de Manila University battles Adamson University at 3 p.m. while College of Saint Benilde tangles with University of the Philippines in the 5 p.m. last game of this collegiate preseason tourney.
Tipping off the hostilities, however, will be National Collegiate Athletic Association squad San Sebastian College, which will face Far Eastern University at 10 a.m., while San Beda University collides with University of Santo Tomas at 1 p.m. in a pair of duels of winless squads.
Ateneo, a perennial University Athletic Association of the Philippines contender, is oozing with momentum after beating San Sebastian in three sets and the Lady Tamaraws in four to gain an early lead in Pool A of this tournament.
They joined the Lady Falcons on top after the San Marcelino-based spikers survived the Lady Tamaraws in five sets on 19 October before ripping the Lady Stags in three sets the other day.
On the other hand, the Lady Blazers collide with the Lady Maroons with a clean slate after going through some anxious moments before dispatching the Lady Tigresses in four and then blasting the Lady Red Spikers in three last Wednesday.
UP, meanwhile, whipped the Lady Red Spikers in three but were dragged to a four-set skirmish by the Lady Tigresses.
