Hanoi Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Chloe Isleta competes in seven events in the Canada leg of the 2022 FINA Swimming World Cup starting Friday.
The venue of the event will be the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre where Isleta will see action in the women’s 50-meter freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m individual medley and 200m individual medley.
In the previous leg in Berlin, Isleta, 24, participated in five events and surpassed national records in the 100 back, 200m back and 100 individual medley.
Isleta said she’s excited to gauge her strengths and hopes to continue the momentum she had in Berlin for the rest of the campaign.
Prior to the tournament, her last short course race before the SEA Games in Hanoi was the 2021 FINA World Championships in Abu Dhabi.
“I’m excited to see what I had left in this second leg and the last leg in the United States,” Isleta said.
“I definitely saw my B Cut times. My dream is to get my A Cut times. It’s going to take some time because this was my first short course race since last year.”
The FINA Swimming World Cup is a three-leg event with the overall winner taking home $100,000 or around P5.8 million.
Indianapolis will be the host of the third leg set 3 to 5 November.
