Juvic Pagunsan hit only three of 14 fairways on his way to two-over-par 72 in the third round of the Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheyo Masters 2022 in Japan Saturday.

The 44-year-old Filipino bogeyed four of the first nine holes but rallied with three birdies against another bogey to bring his total to 1-under 209, good for a share of 21st place.

After an opening round of 66, Pagunsan shot 71 and 72 to trail Japanese leader Taiga Semikawa by nine shots.

Semikawa carded a second straight 66 to open a three-shot lead over compatriot Rikuya Hoshino who also had a 66.

Four players — Yuto Katsumata, Naoto Nakanishi, Hiroshi Iwata, and Ryo Katsumata — were tied for third on 204.
