Converge management gave its full blessing to head coach Aldin Ayo’s decision to bench import Quincy Miller in their 20 November game against NorthPort, which the latter won, 112-97.

Team governor lawyer Chito Salud confirmed Ayo’s action to Daily Tribune.

“We gave him (Ayo) full support,” Salud said in a Viber message right after the game that saw the FiberXers’ seven-winning streak snapped by the Batang Pier.

According to Salud, a former commissioner of the PBA, Miller showed up late for practice, which the team found unacceptable.

On 20 November, Miller suited up, but Ayo decided to keep him on the bench the entire game.

Converge stood by its action against NBA veteran, though the FiberXers are in the running for a top-two berth with a twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs.

Following their third loss in 11 games, the FiberXers dropped to No. 3 and will need to win their last elimination round game against Barangay Ginebra on 30 November.
