Phoenix Super LPG posted the sixth most lopsided victory in league history after a 135-84 demolition of Terrafirma yesterday in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinal round at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

The Fuel Masters showed no mercy in handing the Dyip their worst loss in franchise history.

The biggest winning margin ever posted in the PBA took place 42 years ago when U/Tex walloped Great Taste, 154-99.

The last PBA team to win by 51 points was Rain or Shine, which whipped Alaska, 123-72, on 14 July 2014 during the Governors’ Cup elimination round.

By half time, Phoenix had already erected a 37-point advantage, 67-30, and set the record for the fifth most lopsided advantage in a half.

Setting the records aside, Phoenix could heave a sigh of relief as it snapped a three-game losing streak while awaiting its fate after ending the elimination round campaign at 6-6.

Eight teams will advance into the next round and Phoenix has so far secured itself at No.6 pending the outcome of the remaining elimination round matches which end on 2 December.

Seven players wound up in double figures for the Fuel Masters, led by RR Garcia’s 20 points.

Kaleb Wesson had 17 points and 12 boards while adding two steals and a block, while Encho Serrano also had 17 points and Jason Perkins contributed 16.

RJ Jazul chipped in 14, Kurt Lojera had 11 and Sean Manganti added 10 for the Fuel Masters, who had more production coming off the bench, 68-43, and got more points inside the shaded lane, 62-38, as Terrafirma played without import Lester Prosper for the second straight game.
