Japan Golf Tour regular Juvic Pagunsan and amateur partner Enrique Lauren Jr. captured the Professional Golfers Association of the Philippines pro-am golf tournament at the Aoki course of Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club Thursday.
Pagunsan, the highest-ranked player in the field, powered his partnership with Lauren to a nine-under-par 63 that gave them a one-stroke victory over three tandems.
The winning pair sealed the victory with an eagle on the par-4 18th. They also had nine birdies against two bogeys.
The pair earned P50,000.
Tied for second with identical 64s in the best-ball event were Gory Allarce-Lorben Labanza, Don Petil-Olan delos Santos, and Orlan Sumcad-Argie Bentulan.

Over at the Canlubang Golf and Country Club, brothers Jonas and Jolo Magcalayo figured in a three-way tie for first place with Angelo Que-Mars Pucay and Jay Bayron-Clyde Mondilla after posting identical 10-under-par 62s.
Alone in fourth place was the tandem of Michael Bibat and Albin Engino who combined for 63.
The one-day, best-ball event was sponsored by Ito Queros, Bart Borja and Rey Bolano.
