Popular Twitch streamers Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen and Eric “Snip3down” Wrona revealed that non-performance and finances were the main reasons why three of the biggest Esports organizations left Apex Legends.
ImperialHal, the star of Team SoloMid, stressed that he doesn’t believe that there is a deeper reason behind the exodus of Cloud 9, Team Liquid and G2 Esports from the Apex Legends landscape other than their failure to perform.
After all, Cloud 9, Team Liquid and G2 Esports have all failed to qualify for the Apex Legends Global Series Year 3 that is set to take place in London.
“Literally, the teams do not perform,” ImperialHal said during a live stream.
“I do not buy the EA is not supporting the organizations that much. These organizations are funding so much in other games that it makes Apex just look like nothing. So EA is not supporting these orgs? Like bro, come on. I do not buy any of that crap.”
FaZe star Snip3down, meanwhile, believes that the departure might have something to do with the finances.
“Organizations leaving and organizations joining is not a 50-50 exchange,” he said.
“It is worse when tier one organizations leave because they see a financially unsustainable product that will not give them any RoI (return of investment) in what they are investing to pay for players salaries.”
“When tier one orgs are leaving it means they are seeing something that non-tier one orgs are not. Most tier one orgs are not looking into making RoI right away, they mostly try to be seen with the big guns like the TSMs and Fazes and all these other ones.”
Snip3down is convinced that the big dogs in Esports do not make a profit in the Apex Legends competitive scene.
“Orgs like G2, Liquid, and C9 do not need to be seen because they are already a big enough org,” he said.
