Carl Corpus stormed to a nine-stroke win over cousin Aidric Chan at the close of the 2023 National Stroke Play Championship at the Langer course of the Riviera Golf and Country Club in Davao City Friday.
Corpus, the 21-year-old standout of San Jose State University, shot a closing one-over par 72 to complete 72 holes on 287.
Chan, who attends University of Arizona, shot even par 71 to claim second place on 296, one shot ahead of Filipino-American Jaden Dumdumaya who carded a 77.
Fil-Briton Enrique Dimayuga shot a 74 for fourth place on 301 while Luigi Paolo Wong came in fifth on 304 after a 76.
Rounding out the Top 10 performers were Elee Bisera 73-306, Shinichi Suzuki 75-306, Lo Yung-Cheng 72-307, Perry Josef Bucay 73-307 and Alexander Bisera 74-308.
In the distaff side, Junia Louise Gabasa was the runaway winner on 283 after a 67.
Lois Kaye Go shot a 68 to place second on 291, six shots ahead of Mafy Singson who matched par.
Samantha Dizon was fourth on 304 after a 78 while Heeyeon Bang came in fifth on 308 following a 74.
