SOCIAL MEDIA

Manila and Boracay downed their respective foes to stretch their winning streaks to three in the Manila Bankers Life-Pilipinas Super League Pro Division Second Conference Dumper Cup late Thursday at the Rizal Technological University Gym in Mandaluyong.

Rence Alcoriza fired a game-high 19 points, grabbed five rebounds, and issued an assist to steer the Citystars to an 81-74 victory over Koponang Lakan ng Bulacan.

Macky Acosta barely missed a double-double with 18 markers and nine boards, while Levi Dela Cruz added 10 for Manila, which maintained the grit and effort it showed in an 89-79 win over Cagayan de Oro-PSP last week and climbed to 5-3 for seventh.

Bulacan failed to do an encore to a 100-57 shellacking of Bagong Cabuyao-Homelab Nation last 28 December and fell to 3-3.

Former Philippine Basketball Association star Mac Cardona wound up with 20 points, to go with six caroms and four dimes as the Islanders trounced Cagayan de Oro, 89-82.

Providing big help was Jaymar Gimpayan, who turned in a double-double of 19 markers and 16 rebounds for Boracay.

Johnsherick Estrada also scored 17 points and dished off five feeds as the Islanders improved to 4-4 for eight, counting a 91-73 triumph over San Pedro Laguna-ARS last Monday.

Coming off a 79-89 setback at the hands of the Citystars last week, Cagayan de Oro tumbled to 1-7.

Leo Najorda scored 12 points and pulled down five boards for Bulacan, while Mark Pangilinan and Keanu Caballero got 11 and 10 markers, respectively.

Jayvee Dela Cruz paced Cagayan de Oro with 15 points, while Omar Larupay had 14 and 10.

Ian Yutuc, Jopet Soriano, and Jeff Comia also combined for 36 markers for Cagayan de Oro.
