Despite being underpowered, San Miguel Beer still packed enough explosives to blast away at Phoenix Super LPG, 114-93, Sunday in the Philippine Basketball Association Governors Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Missing the services of injured players Terrence Romeo, Vic Manuel and Robbie Herndon, the Beermen found enough firepower in new acquisition Allyn Bulanadi, who came away with 16 points on his first game for the franchise.
Five other players ended up in double figures led by returning import Cameron Clark who proved to be the right fit for San Miguel Beer, making 23 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Six-time PBA Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo turned in a double-double performance of 19 points and 13 boards, while CJ Perez contributed 18. Simon Enciso chipped in 14 points and nine assists, and Marcio Lassiter added 11.
The Beermen, who led all the way, erected a 62-29 advantage at one point.
