Fan-favorite Nexplay EVOS has finally released a statement bidding goodbye to one of the pillars of the professional Mobile Legends scene.
Setsuna Ignacio or better known as Akosi Dogie has departed Nexplay and officially moved to play for Ginebra in the upcoming PBA Esports Bakbakan which is set to start on 27 February.
He was Nexplay EVOS’ team captain last MPL season and is one of the most popular figures in local Esports with more than 6.5 million subscribers on YouTube.
“We worked together for more than five years, and we can say that you are indeed an ML guru in this community who has influenced everyone. You inspired many people, encouraged them to overcome their fears, taught them valuable life lessons, and gave them a lot of opportunities not only in-game but also in real life,” Nexplay said in a statement.
It continued: “You’ve known as ‘puro hype’ and ‘mayabang personality’ here on the internet, but in reality, you are a very generous, straightforward, and helpful person who always cheers up your colleagues, teammates, and friends. And with that, for us, you are the real MVP!”
Besides Akosi Dogie, Nexplay’s big three YAWI, RENEJAY, and H2wo have all departed from the team and have joined ECHO, Blacklist International, and RSG PH respectively. In the end, the organization is thankful for the guidance he provided their players.
“Thank you for always being there for us, even when we were at our lowest, and thank you for taking care of all our players during their stay with you. We are grateful to have you here at Nexplay. We appreciate all your efforts, contributions, and hard work. Thank you, Akosi Dogie,” the statement said.
