Maria Brianna Dizon Macasaet fired a three-over-par 57 to seize control of the girls’ 7-8 division going into the final round of the IMG Junior World Qualifiers at the Riviera Golf and Country Club in Silang, Cavite Saturday.
Macasaet completed 36 holes on 120, three shots ahead of Kamilla Edrianna del Mundo who carded a 60.
In another tight battle, Soleil Ianne Molde carded a 70 and hung on to a one-stroke lead over Stephanie Gan and Athena Winter Serapio.
Molde has a two-round total of 138.
Gan was briefly on top of the leaderboard until she four-putted for double bogey on the final hole.
Filipino-Korean Soreen Lee built a 12-shot lead over Halo Virgil Pangilinan after shooting a 61 in the boys’ 7-8 division.
In the boys’ 6-and-under, Kenzo Gavin Tan had a 17-stroke lead over Ethan Franco Lago after signing for 61.
The top three finishers in each division will secure spots to the IMG Junior World Championships in San Diego, California.
