All four teams of Brotherhood in different divisions made it to the quarterfinals of the United Basketball League recently at the Systems Plus Computer College in Caloocan City.
Christopher Real starred, leading Brotherhood’s U16 team to an impressive 103-65 victory over Triple J for their fourth win in six matches.
Also advancing to the next round were Brotherhood’s entries in the 15U, 17U and 18U categories.
Brotherhood’s 18U team, in fact, even went undefeated in four games of Bracket B of this tourney put up by two-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist and former Philippine Basketball Association player Allan Salangsang.
Just recently, UBL wrapped up its elimination round matches as National University, Mighty Warriors, Paragon, Dauntless J, Jose Rizal University, Blue Knights and Hustle DMC scored separate victories.
NU’s 17U team breezed past Brotherhood, 73-65, with Alonzo Austria finishing with 23 points.
Then, its 19U squad made it a double celebration as it drubbed Madcats, 101-64, with Collins Akowe coming up with another monster game of 19 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks.
Dauntless J’s 16U and 14U squads also hurdled their rivals in convincing fashion.
Demar Bibar and Khyle Dy combined for 31 points and pulled down 10 boards each in powering Dauntless J’s manhandling of Mighty Warriors, 66-47.
In the 14U, it was Niel Garcia’s turn to complete a double-double performance as he finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds while leading his squad to a 56-33 demolition job of Passion.
Meanwhile, Mighty Warriors nipped MBC, 67-65 in 16U; Paragon edged PCAF, 64-63, in 19U, Jose Rizal University clobbered Passion, 63-42 in 21U, Blue Knights clobbered Dauntless J, 87-48 in 13U; and Hustle DMC waylaid PCU, 70-57, in 21U.
