The Philippine national Esports team Sibol utilizes Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines Season 11 as its training grounds in preparation for the Southeast Asian Games 2023 scheduled from May 5 to 17 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Sibol will be represented by Bren Esports players Pheww, KyleTzy, FlapTzy, Super Marco, Owgwen, ONIC PH’s Ryota, and spearheaded by coach Duckey. With the MPL Playoffs on the horizon, Duckey admits it has been a buzzing month for the team.
“This is going to be our training ground. Currently, we are training for the Playoffs as well as SEA Games. It is quite hectic for us this month. We take it one day at a time. We focus on ourselves on how we master the game,” Duckey said.
Bren Esports ended the MPL regular season as the top seed and is scheduled to face the winner between Blacklist International and Omega Esports in the upper bracket on May 5 at SMX Convention Center in Pasay.
According to Duckey, the main goal is to win a third Esports SEA Games gold medal for the Philippines.
“We have set our eyes on the higher price which is the SEA Games gold. It has been proven by Sibol that what we are doing works because we have had the last two gold medals. There is not much pressure because we know how they (international opponents) play so we’ll see,” he said.
