The national obstacle race team made their presence felt, assuring itself of four medals in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games at the OCIC Wedding Center Wednesday in Phnom Penh.
Jaymark Rodelas and Popoy Pascua clocked 25.09 and 26.18 seconds to emerge with a 1-2 finish and move into the four-man final round of the 100-meter men’s individual event scheduled on Saturday.
Also moving into the final round were Precious Cabuya and Kaizen de la Serna, who topped the distaff side with 33.12 and 34.86 seconds, respectively.
Philippine Obstacle Sport Federation president Al Agra said they are still confirming if Rodelas and Cabuya had broken two crucial records — the World Obstacle and the Guinness World Records.
Should the national bets emerge victorious on Saturday, they will have a handsome chance of replicating their success in the 2019 edition of the Games in Manila, where they swept all six gold medals at stake.
