Honda Cars Philippines Inc. has made significant progress toward its ambitious goal of creating a greener and safer future for its customers in an ever-evolving world.

On 26 April, Honda Motor Co. Ltd. held a press briefing to present ongoing efforts toward the electrification transformation of business operations with two presentations made by Toshihiro Mibe, director, president and representative executive officer; and Shinji Aoyama, director, executive vice president and representative executive officer, respectively.

Honda’s strategy to advance mobility and realize its dream of zero environmental impact and traffic collision fatalities with its motorcycles and automobiles involves taking an integrated approach.

They strive to become an agent of change in society. Their multifaceted strategy involves carbon-neutral power units, energy management systems that enable the use of power units as an energy source, resource circulation systems, automated driving and advanced driver assistance systems, and Internet of Things connected technologies.

Honda has set an ambitious goal to realize its vision: increasing EV/FCEV sales to 100 percent by 2040 globally. They plan to accomplish this by producing over two million EVs annually by 2030.

HCPI Philippines President, Rie Miyake, shares Honda’s global vision and is committed to introducing electrified vehicles into the Philippine market.

By emphasizing environmentally-friendly solutions for transportation solutions and expanding Honda’s presence by adding hybrid electric vehicles into its lineup soon, Miyake hopes to establish a strong presence for Honda in the country by meeting increasing interest in more eco-friendly modes of transportation.

North American customers will see Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX models, jointly developed with General Motors, go on sale beginning in 2024.

A mid- to large-size EV using Honda’s dedicated platform will then go on sale starting 2025.

Honda plans to introduce two electric vehicles for sale on the Chinese market — the e:NS2 and e:NP2, followed by mass production models based on its e:N SUV xu concept model before 2024 comes to an end.

By 2027, Honda plans to introduce 10 EV models in China to reach 100 percent EV sales there by 2035 — ahead of other regions.

Japan will see a commercial-use mini-EV model based on N-VAN hit the market in the first half 2024 followed by the N-ONE in 2025 and two small-size EV models including an SUV type in 2026.

As Honda expands its EV lineup, it also plans on offering vehicle charging services. Building on Honda SmartCharge(tm), an EV charging solution currently available in North America, Honda plans on rolling out an energy business that utilizes the power supply capability of its EVs for public charging services.

Honda will collaborate with providers of reliable charging networks to establish an environment conducive to providing vehicle charging services for its customers.

Honda, in response to industry transformation, has revamped its Global Brand Slogan “The Power of Dreams,” by including three key words — How We Move You; Create, Transcend, and Augment — into its Global Brand Slogan (The Power of Dreams).

Honda seeks to create mobility that not only physically moves people but also emotionally resonates with them.

Honda’s mission is driven by dreams and the intrinsic motivation of all employees working there, creating the mobility needed to enable people to exceed the constraints of time and place, expanding possibilities. By creating this dream of mobility for more and more people, it aims to become the force of dreams that propel society forward.

Honda’s visionary road map showcases its dedication to shaping the future of mobility on both an international and local scale — in countries like the Philippines for instance. By adapting and meeting market requirements specifically, Honda stands well-placed to lead this transformation and have a lasting effect on millions of lives worldwide.
