The Philippines failed to win a single medal at the close of the individual competition in golf but fought well enough in the final round to be hopeful when the team event kicks off Thursday in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Filipino-Briton Enrique Dimayuga fired a second-straight four-under-par 68 to emerge as the best performer in the men’s event on 7-under 209(D1).
Born and raised in England by Filipino parents, Dimayuga finished 18 holes without a bogey while collecting four birdies.
He tied for fifth place with three Thai players — Ratchanon Chantananuwat (73), Jiradech Chaowarat (70) and Arsit Areephun (67).
Aidric Chan shot a 69 to finish joint 13th on 213 while Jaden Dumdumaya broke par for the second straight day with a 70 to end up in a share of 17th on 216.

The Filipinos’ final-day performances augur well for the Philippines going into the match play team event.
