This year marks the 20th anniversary of Grupo Toyota, a car club devoted to uniting Toyota enthusiasts from all walks of life.

Grupo Toyota, the biggest Toyota car club, celebrates 20 years.

Spanning two decades, the club has grown into a family-oriented community, embracing all years and models of Toyota vehicles. Members share a common passion for motorsports, car-related activities, and, of course, the iconic Toyota brand itself.

Established in 2003, Grupo Toyota began as a small group of friends with a shared admiration for Toyota vehicles. Over the years, the club has expanded to include members from different backgrounds, ages and geographical locations. Through various activities and events, the club has cultivated a strong sense of camaraderie and support among its members.

Like a lot of brand-centered auto clubs, Grupo Toyota has an all-encompassing love for every Toyota model. From classic Corollas and Celicas to the rugged Land Cruisers and modern metal such as the Toyota GR Yaris and Mk. V Supra, the club welcomes every Toyota enthusiast. This inclusivity has led to a vibrant and diverse community, where knowledge and experiences are shared freely among members.

Last 6 May, Blue Bay Walk in Pasay City served as the venue for the club’s special 20th-year meet. More than 500 members visited the venue throughout the day, and the Blue Bay Walk’s steel parking structure was filled with all manner of Toyotas.

Outside, an event space showcased a selection of club members’ drool-worthy rides, made up of cars from the most popular Toyota models in the country such as the 1st-gen RAV4, a rare E100 series wagon, different generations of the Corolla sedan, and off-road models like the Hi-Lux and Land Cruiser.

Various car exhibits from the GT20 celebration cover a variety of Toyota models from old to new.

Entertainment was provided for by different bands, while the event was hosted by GT member and radio DJ, Eric Francis Galang, aka “DJ Chinapaps” of MOR Entertainment. DJ Imay Datu, another GT member and ex-89.1 DMZ radio DJ, streamed a classic edition of DMZ ‘s Mobile Circuit straight from Canada.

Grupo Toyota organizes a wide range of events and activities throughout the year, including mini-car shows, track days and educational workshops. These gatherings offer members the opportunity to showcase their prized vehicles, exchange technical tips, and build lasting friendships.

As Grupo Toyota celebrates its 20th anniversary, the club is poised to continue its growth and strengthen its presence in the Toyota community. With the shared love for the brand as its driving force, the club will continue to provide a supportive environment where members can foster their passion for Toyota vehicles and motorsports.

As the club looks ahead, its commitment to fostering a sense of camaraderie and support among its members will remain unwavering, ensuring that Grupo Toyota will continue to be a haven for Filipino Toyota enthusiasts for years to come.
