Nuneza paces FCG Qualifiers

Cliff Nuneza fired a three-under-par 69 to take a two-shot lead over Zachary Castro in the boys’ 15-18 division in the FCG Callaway World Championship Qualifiers at the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmariñas, Cavite on Tuesday.

Nuneza, who hails from Cagayan de Oro, and Castro were the only players to break par at the start of the 54-hole tournament organized by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.

Taiwanese Li Minghui paced the girls’ 15-18, shooting a 75 for a one-shot lead over Anna Fernandez.

The other division leaders were Sebastian See in the boys’ 13-14, Chonpansa Tawinsang in the girls’ 13-14, Ralph Batican in the boys’ 11-12, Wirada Tawinsang in the girls’ 11-12, Vito Sarines in the boys’ 9-10, Rafella Batican in the girls’ 9-10, Lucas de Guzman in the boys’ 7-8 and Winter Serapio in the girls’ 7-8.
