Granada, Fernandez banner FCG qualifiers

Miko Granada and Anne Fernandez booked tickets to the FCG Callaway World Championships after topping their respective divisions at the Norman course of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in General Trias, Cavite on Thursday.

Granada held off Zachary Castro with a closing one-over-par 73 to rule the boys’ 15-18 division. He finished on 214, two shots ahead of Castro who carded a 71.

Fernandez, on the other hand, edged Taiwanese Li Minghui via countback to win the girls’ 15-18. Fernandez shot a 75 to tie Li on 227.

Felix Saludar, son of broadcaster Ely Saludar, came out on top of the boys’ 13-14 after a 54-hole total of 257 while Thai Tawinsang Chonpansa ruled the distaff side on 228.

The other division winners who qualified for the FCG tournament were Winter Serapio in the girls’ 7-8, Lucas de Guzman in the boys’ 7-8, Rafella Batican in the girls’ 9-10, Jared Saban in the boys’ 9-10, Wirada Tawinsang in the girls’ 11-12 and Ralph Batican in the boys’ 11-12.

Also joining the FCG trip are the runners-up in each category — Harvey Hernandez, Chime Cuenca, Vito Sarines, Lisa Sarines, Jacob Gomez, Rafa Anciano, Gabriel See, Li and Castro.
