South Korea swept the Asia Pacific Junior Amateur Championships at the Palmer course of the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmarinas, Cavite on Thursday.
Kim Minsol and An Seong Hyeon shot a 70 and 71, respectively to bring their 54-hole total to 7-under, two shots ahead of compatriots Seo Kyorim and Moon Dong Hyun.
Noon sizzled for 69 but Seo carded a 74.
Thailand 1 was alone in third place on 3-under.
Parin Sarasmut fired a 71 while Prim Prachnakorn had a 73 for Thailand’s first team.
Tied for fourth were India and Thailand 2.
Meanwhile, the Philippines landed in 17th and 18th spots.
Shinichi Suzuki came through with his best round of the tournament — a 73 — as the country’s first team wound up on 22-over. Reese Ng closed with a 79.
The second team of Edison Tabalin and Gabie Rosca combined for 23-over.
Tabalin shot a 73 while Rosca returned with an 84 in the final round.
Hsu Po-Cheng captured the men’s individual title on 6-under despite a final-round 73.
Koreans Moon and An tied for second on 5-under.
Tabalin finished sixth on 4-over while Suzuki tied for 15th on 10-over.
In women’s play, Arianna Lau of Vietnam returned with a 69 to complete a one-shot win on 4-under.
Tied for second were Nishna Patel of India (69), Pimpisa Rubrong of Thailand (70) and Prachnakorn.
Ng was the best-placed Filipina on 12th on 12-over while Rosca finished in a tie for 19th on 19-over.
