PLDT brought in a veteran reinforcement in Royse Tubino for the Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference kicking off next month.

Hoping to achieve a breakthrough podium finish since joining the pro rank in 2021, the High Speed Hitters turned to the battle-tested Tubino to boost their firepower at the wing spot when the mid-season tournament wars begin on 29 June.

The 30-year-old outside hitter’s presence gives PLDT another formidable option on offense along with Mean Mendrez, Jules Samonte, Mich Morente, Jovie Prado and Fiola Ceballos.

Standing at 5-foot-9, Tubino is also a solid defender at the net to complement the outstanding middle rotation of the High Speed Hitters led by team captain Mika Reyes, national team member Dell Palomata and Jessey de Leon.

Tubino averaged 14.1 points per game during her stint with the Philippine Army in the season-opening All-Filipino Conference. She finished fifth in scoring despite the Lady Troopers’ winless campaign.
