Blizzard raises stakes on Diablo IV hardcore mode

SOCIAL MEDIA

Blizzard Entertainment has raised the stakes for hardcore mode players of RPG franchise Diablo IV which was officially released over the weekend for Deluxe and Ultimate edition buyers and on 7 June for Standard Edition.

First introduced in Diablo II, Hardcore mode is a game mode that kills a player’s character for good if he dies in the game.

It is a mode that is not for the faint of heart as one error would mean that the player would have to start the game again from the very beginning.

In the past, playing hardcore mode was a brutal task that reaps no rewards other than a mere sense of fulfillment.

This time, however, Blizzard Entertainment will immortalize the first 1,000 players to reach level 100 in the mentioned mode by engraving their names on a statue.

“Think you can cheat death? Reach level 100 on hardcore mode and tweet #Diablo4Hardcore with proof to have your username immortalized on a statue of Lilith,” Blizzard Entertainment announced.

“The first 1,000 individuals who meet all of the eligibility requirements herein and send a public Tweet to Diablo containing the hashtag #Diablo4Hardcore, their full Battle.net BattleTag, and picture or video proof that the individual has reached a character level of 100 in hardcore mode on Diablo IV and have earned the Tempered Champion title in-game using the same Battle.net account will have their BattleTag engraved into a physical statue of Blizzard’s choice,” the terms and conditions stated.

“Blizzard Entertainment will contact the 1,000 eligible individuals who have successfully claimed the offer to confirm via Twitter DM within approximately 45 days of the conclusion of the offer period.”

It is important to take note that the offer is limited to one person only and Blizzard Entertainment reserves the right to void claims from players who have inappropriate or offensive BattleTags.
