Jetour, a Chinese brand launched in 2018 by Chery under Chery Commercial Vehicle, recently marked its entry into the Philippine market.
As a budget brand for crossovers and SUVs, Jetour offers vehicles in midsize or larger segments with options for 5, 6, or 7-seat configurations. Powertrain options range from traditional internal combustion engines to fully electric and plug-in hybrid models.
In the Philippines, Jetour’s lineup includes the Ice Cream EV, the Jetour X70 and X70 Plus, and the Dashing compact crossover.
The Ice Cream EV, an affordable electric vehicle, is equipped with a 20 kW electric motor with a 13.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, capable of generating 27 horsepower and 85 Nm of torque. This small EV, priced at P699,000, boasts a top speed of 100 km/h and a range of 170 km on a single charge.
The Jetour X70, a family mid-size SUV available in four variants, is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 154 horsepower and 230 N-m of torque. This SUV has prices ranging from P1,099,000 to P1,299,000, while the different-bodied X70 Plus goes for P1,499,000. The fourth model in Jetour’s lineup, the Dashing compact crossover, is priced at P1,329,000.
Jetour Auto Philippines is actively strategizing to expand its presence in the country, revealing plans to inaugurate 16 new dealerships within the year.
These new establishments will be strategically positioned throughout the Philippines, with locations including Pasay, Las Piñas, Eton Centris (Quezon City), Fairview, Pampanga, Isabela, E. Rodriguez, Batangas and Quezon Avenue in Luzon. Moreover, Cebu, Iloilo and Bacolod will be the focus in the Visayas, while Davao, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro and Butuan are the chosen locations in Mindanao.
These locations were selected based on their potential for growth and their proximity to Jetour’s existing customer base.
Each dealership will showcase Jetour’s full vehicle lineup, which includes the popular Dashing and Ice Cream models, the seven-seater X70 SUV, and the top-spec X70 Plus.
Moreover, customers can anticipate superior after-sales service, including maintenance and repair services, as well as a wide variety of genuine parts and accessories.
Miguelito Jose, managing director of Jetour Auto Philippines, reinforced the company’s commitment to its expansion.
“We are delivering on our promise when we launched the brand, and we will continue to work to bring our products and services closer to more Filipinos. We are confident that our experienced dealer principals and dedicated teams will uphold our commitment to customer satisfaction and deliver the best possible experience to all our customers,” he said.
The establishment of these 16 new dealerships symbolizes a significant step forward in Jetour Auto Philippines’ dedication to broadening its reach and providing high-quality vehicles and services to customers throughout the country.
Along with this push to establish a strong foothold in the Philippine market by rapidly expanding its network, the brand is set to shake things up by offering a market-first 6-year/unlimited mileage warranty on its cars and a 10-year engine warranty on its internal combustion models.
Given the competitive nature of the Philippine automotive market, the success of Jetour will depend on a variety of factors, including the brand’s ability to establish its reputation, the reliability and quality of its vehicles, the efficiency of its after-sales service, and how effectively it can compete with other established brands in the same segments.
Nonetheless, with its aggressive expansion strategy and a diverse lineup of vehicles, Jetour is a brand that holds significant potential in the Philippine market.
