No vehicle, regardless of the reputation of its manufacturer or the quality of its design, is immune to manufacturing issues or part recalls.
Even the finest cars on the market can experience glitches in the production line, software errors, or unexpected part failures. It’s an inherent part of the automotive industry; the complexity of modern vehicles ensures that occasional issues are practically inevitable.
The true test of a manufacturer’s mettle lies not in avoiding these issues entirely, but in how it responds when such problems do arise.
In line with this, Nissan Philippines recently addressed the issue concerning the air conditioning system of the Kicks e-Power.
The company acknowledged that some owners have reported the sudden stoppage of cold air from the air conditioning system. This problem has been linked to the AC compressor system, and it affects customers not just in the Philippines, but also in Thailand.
Nissan has identified the root of the issue and is starting to offer the fix for free to customers, with plans to issue a formal recall to fix all affected units in due time. The company has already rectified the issue with units produced from February 2023 onwards.
However, in light of the air conditioning system issue, Nissan Philippines has unfortunately needed to delay deliveries of new Kicks e-Power units.
The company has taken a responsible approach, ensuring that all vehicles are equipped with the necessary fix before reaching the hands of new owners who have already placed their orders.
As such, customers expecting their new vehicles may experience temporary delivery delays. This decision, while causing short-term inconvenience, is an indication of Nissan’s commitment to delivering vehicles that meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
The Nissan Kicks e-Power is indeed experiencing the same air conditioning system issues in other markets aside from the Philippines.
Specifically, the issue has been reported in Thailand as well.
As a result, Nissan is conducting service campaigns to address the issue in both countries.
In Thailand, the campaign will cover the Kicks e-Power vehicles from the model years 2022 and 2023 and is expected to begin in early June.
Nissan Philippines has candidly communicated that due to the partial readiness of the parts needed to address the air conditioning issue at this time, it will be prioritizing customers whose vehicles are experiencing the problem.
Regrettably, this temporarily affects the delivery of new vehicles as previously stated. Customers who have placed orders can expect to receive their new vehicles within June 2023.
Nissan has vowed to keep its customers updated and is expressing sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused
In a show of commitment to its customers, Nissan has emphasized that customer satisfaction is its top priority. It appreciates its customers’ patience and faith in its brand and products.
In its communication, Nissan pledged to continue listening to customer feedback, addressing concerns, and keeping their customers at the forefront of their operations.
