Jose Rizal University stamped its class even as Mighty Warriors completed a double celebration as they led the winners in the United Basketball League Inter-Cities and Municipalities basketball tournament Season 1 at the Filoil-EcoOil gym in San Juan just recently.

The Bombers walloped Arceegee Saints, 75-62, to rule the under-21 division of this tournament sponsored by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.

Shawn Argente caught fire and knocked in four of his six three-point shots to finish with 25 points and lead the way for the Bombers.

Vince Sarmiento tallied 11 points and Marvin James Raymundo contributed 10 markers for JRU, which scored 19 points coming off its rival’s 15 turnovers.

The Bombers also scored 38 points from the paint, 16 more than their counterparts.

Mighty Warriors flexed their muscles and reigned supreme in the 15-under and 17-under divisions.

In the 17-under, Mighty Warriors outplayed 828 QC, 86-69, as the deadly triumvirate of Luigi Almanza, Shaun Haw and Dale Ortega combined forces.

Ortega capped his big game with a double-double showing as he also ended up with 13 rebounds.

In the 15-under division, Mighty Warriors posted a twin kill as they edged RPBC-JRL, 98-91.

Five players led by Geremy Godoy and Migs Osis, who both contributed 17 points apiece, led the Mighty Warriors’ onslaught.

Legends Marikina edged Pateros, 64-60, to lord it over in the 19-under division.
