JP Yude will be calling the shots when Adamson campaigns in Season 86 University Athletic Association of the Philippines women’s volleyball tournament.
The coaching change was announced by the Lady Falcons on its social media page yesterday as Yude takes over from Jerry Yee, who will bring his expertise to Farm Fresh in the Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference.
Yude is no stranger to the Adamson backyard, having led the Baby Lady Falcons to the finals of the Season 85 wars where they lost to Nazareth School of National University in three games.
“Congratulations to our very own, Coach John Philip Yude, the new head coach of Adamson University’s women’s volleyball team,” the announcement said.
Yude will be in handling an Adamson team that had just finished third in last season’s UAAP women’s volleyball tournament featuring the likes of Trisha Tubu, Kate Santiago and Lucille Almonte.
Luckily, Yude won’t be facing this new challenge alone as joining him in the coaching staff are Adamson alumni Bang Pineda and Leo Miranda.
Pineda, who currently plays for Akari in the PVL, was on the squad in Season 76 that also featured then-rising stars Jema Galanza and Mylene Paat.
Miranda played for the Adamson men’s team from 2017 to 2023 and led the Falcons to the Final Four in Season 81 in 2019.
“Congratulations true blue Falcons, Bang Pineda and Leo Miranda, the new assistant coaches of Adamson University’s women’s volleyball team,” the school said.
