The Philippines’ Princess Superal dished out an even-par 72 to slide four shots off the pace on Saturday going into the final round of the Jupiter Shizuoka Shimbun and Shizuoka Broadcasting System Ladies Championship in Japan.
Superal, 26, birdied Hole No. 3 before stumbling with two bogeys in Nos. 4 and 9. Fortunately she recovered with another birdie on the 15th to remain tied for fifth place.
After winning the 2022 Simone Asia Pacific Cup, Superal has been looking for a big win in the Ladies Professional Golfers Association of Japan Step-Up Tour.
Firing 71 on the opening day, Superal is now four shots off the pace in the tournament that has a total purse of 20M Japanese yen or roughly P7.9 million.
Chia Yen-wu of Taiwan is holding a one-shot lead after a 69 for a two-day total of 139. Japanese Yuki Ichinose issued a 68 for 140. Narumi Yamada and Seira Oki are bunched at third place two strokes behind.
Superal is tied for fifth with hometown bets Oni Ohnishi and Miyuki Takeuchi after coming up with 71 and 75, respectively.
At joint eighth are Mayu Hiruta (75-69), Sakura Kito (74-70) and Ririna Staiano (73-71).
