Taiwanese Chia Yen-wu pressed on with a 67 in the third and final round Sunday to capture the Jupiter Shizuoka Shimbun Shizuoka Broadcasting System Ladies Championships in Japan.
Chia dotted her bogey-less round with five birdies — including three in the first five holes — for a total of 206 to run away with the top purse of 3.6M Yen or P1.4 million.
She was five shots off the field at the end of the day, leaving behind second-round pursuers Yuki Ichinose and Seira Oki who turned in 71 and 69, respectively for joint second place with 211.
Filipina campaigner Princess Superal faltered with three bogeys — on Holes 4, 14, 15 — against a single birdie (11th) to finish with 217 and in tie with five others at 11th place.
The 26-year-old Superal, who was just three shots off the pace in the first round, wound up with a 74.
Joining her were Nozomi Ohsuga who had a closing round 69, Hibiki Kitawara (71), Mayu Hattori (71), Yumi Narisawa (71) and Mayu Hirota (73).
The tournament is under the Step-Up Tour, the minor league of the Ladies Professional Golf Association of Japan.
Superal, who was looking for a follow-up on her Simone Asia Pacific Cup title last year, has been campaigning in Japan over the past two years.
