SBP Invitational: Ateneo beats Letran

Ateneo de Manila University survived Letran College’s challenge, 90-85, in the SBP Invitational Games at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday evening.

With 1:18 minutes remaining in the game and the match tied at 84, the Blue Eagles went for a quick 6-1 run, sealed by a pair of free throws from Lebron Nieto, to take the win.

Mason Amos led Ateneo with 16 points and four rebounds with Jared Brown adding 15 points for the Blue Eagles.

Kurt Reyson scored 25 points for Letran in a losing effort.

These games are a simulation for the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas for the upcoming 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup this August.
