vs F2 Logistics
Choco Mucho and F2 Logistics duke it out for a chance to step closer to a semifinals seat in a clash of powerhouse squads in Pool B of the Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference today at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Opening serve of the battle of unbeaten clubs is set at 6 p.m. to cap off the quadruple-header feature as hostilities resume after a 10-day break.
Kicking off the busy playdate is the Pool B duel between Petro Gazz and newcomer Farm Fresh at 9:30 a.m. followed by the 12 p.m. encounter between Cignal and Foton.
Locking horns in the lone Pool A pairing at 4 p.m. are Akari and Chery Tiggo.
But the spotlight is focused on the Flying Titans and the Cargo Movers in a match that promises nothing but fireworks from the opening serve to the final whistle.
Well-rested and carrying momentum from their respective back-to-back victories, both teams will be coming out swinging to boost their chances of securing a spot in the next round.
The mid-season conference halted action for more than a week to give way to the country’s hosting of the Men’s Volleyball Nations League Week 3.
Crowd-drawer Choco Mucho cruised to its first two games, crushing expansion teams Farm Fresh and Foton in straight sets
The Dante Alinsunurin-mentored squad has shown great improvement from the previous conference with the arrival of prolific scorer Sisi Rondina backed by inspired games of starters Caitlyn Viray, Cherry Nunag and Maddie Madayag.
Rondina has been averaging 16.5 points per game but more than providing numbers on offense, her leadership and energy inside the court have shown a tremendous impact on the Flying Titans’ game.
F2 Logistics is sure to put extra attention on the high-flying Rondina come game time.
“We have to be prepared very well against them. Every match is important for us,” Cargo Movers head coach Regine Diego said.
F2 Logistics shares the top spot with Choco Mucho after convincing wins over Farm Fresh and Cignal.
However, the Cargo Movers won’t have it easy this time against the Flying Titans, who currently lead the league in spiking and blocking.
All eyes will be on 6-foot-2 Ivy Lacsina, who is doing great as a converted open spiker, Kim Kianna Dy, team captain Aby Marano, Majoy Baron, top libero Dawn Macandili and new recruits Jolina dela Cruz and setter Mars Alba as they try to keep F2 Logistics’ winning streak going.
