Triton High Roller finalist Florencio Campomanes IV, a.k.a. Flo, is spearheading the Philippine challenge in the prestigious 2023 World Series of Poker now ongoing until 18 July in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Representing Masters Poker Club, Flo will showcase his skills and determination in one of the most significant poker events that perennially attracts top players from around the globe.

Joining him in the quest for a share of the $10-million prize pool and the most coveted bracelet that serves as a symbol of supremacy in the mind sport are John Tech, a.k.a. Jojo, Mike Takayama, Peng Mendoza, and William Ysmael, among the most jaded Filipino pros in the international circuit.

The WSOP gold bracelet is special for a number of reasons. These bracelets are limited at each WSOP tournament and are awarded for only specific events.

With over 16 years of experience, Flo has firmly established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the high-stakes sport. Known for his resilience, skill, and ability to inspire budding poker players, Flo has become a symbol of the Philippines’ growing influence in the world of poker.

Flo’s achievement at the Triton Super High Roller Series, held in Cyprus from May 10 to May 25, makes him confident that he can compete against an elite field considered among the best in the world.

In that series, Flo secured an impressive eighth-place finish, earning a cash prize of $167,500. This notable accomplishment made him the first Filipino to reach the final table at a Triton Event, demonstrating the competitive mettle of Filipino poker players on the global stage.

Beyond his achievements, Flo is a dedicated, serious mentor, coaching several aspirants and sharing his knowledge and strategies. As an ambassador for Masters Poker Club, Flo has represented the Philippines in global competitions and advocates for poker as a sport in the country. The club has been instrumental in promoting poker in the Philippines and supporting talented athletes like Flo. Their dedication has helped build a vibrant poker scene and fostered a sense of community among poker enthusiasts.

The WSOP is best known for its prestigious tournaments and record-breaking turnouts. The highly anticipated $10,000 Main Event, which began 3 July, has attracted a record registry that has made it the largest WSOP main event in history.

The 2023 WSOP has already witnessed several exciting moments, such as players like Isaac Haxton removing their names from the “Best To Have Never Won A Bracelet” list and Chad Eveslage winning multiple Dealer’s Choice events.

The overall attendance at the WSOP has reached an all-time high, highlighting the growing popularity of poker and its many variations.

While the WSOP takes center stage, other poker events are also happening in Las Vegas during this period. Notably, the WPT Everyone for One Drop, scheduled from July 9 to 14 at the Wynn Las Vegas, offers a remarkable $10,500 buy-in and guarantees a staggering $10-million prize pool.
