The ever-diehard playerbase of Diablo IV is in for a treat this week as Blizzard Entertainment is set to launch the game’s inaugural season this Friday.
Diablo IV has been in full swing since its official release last month. Now that players have finally gotten a good feel of the game and many have completed the campaign, the popular ARPG (action role-playing game) will release Season 1 entitled “Season of the Malignant.”
“Seasons change every few months and bring along with them new content like new enemies, mechanics, powers, and tons of new ways to face the horrors of sanctuary,” Blizzard Entertainment announced.
“At the release of each season, you will want to create a seasonal character which allows you to experience all the new content that season brings. Just make sure you have gone through the campaign on your account at least one time before.”
To participate in the campaign, Blizzard Entertainment made it clear that players will have to create a new character beginning from Level 1 to enjoy the seasonal content. Old characters, branded as eternal, will still be playable but not entitled to seasonal benefits.
It is worth noting too that players will not have to play the campaign again in upcoming seasons if they have finished it in the past. Moreover, explorations such as the Altars of Lilith are readily unlocked for new seasonal characters whenever they start a new season.
“Your regular characters still exist within the eternal realm where you can hop in and play them whenever you want within the base game of Diablo IV,” Blizzard Entertainment stressed.
