Ace scorer Tots Carlos and the rest of the Creamline Cool Smashers look to come back stronger in the next tournament of the Premier Volleyball League.

Redemption will be in the eyes of the Cool Smashers when they return to action in the season-ending tournament after getting kicked off the Invitational Conference throne by Japanese guest team Kurashiki Ablaze last Sunday.

Creamline, in the meantime, will be licking its wounds and allow its ailing players time to rest and recover before going back to the drawing board to plot its campaign in the third conference slated to begin in October.

“It’s the same. After the conference, we’ll get a little rest. Then, back to work, back to training,” Carlos said.

“Our coaches will take care of our training. We just really have to show up and do our best in training.”

The Cool Smashers were having a great run in its title-retention bid in the international-flavored contest before suffering stinging back-to-back losses including a heartbreaking, 25-19, 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, 13-15, gold medal match defeat at the hands of the Ablaze at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Carlos, who was awarded Best Opposite Spiker, did her best to save the Cool Smashers with 27 points, 20 excellent receptions and 10 digs only to watch their reign end.

But despite the loss, the former three-time Most Valuable Player is keeping her head held high for still a great run for the Cool Smashers.

“Personally, I’m really happy because I’m sure everyone saw how competitive the game was. All of my teammates played their roles. They did their best. No regrets. We really played our hearts out,” she said.

“We really enjoyed the game. We are really happy we got into this situation because for sure we will learn from this and make us even stronger.”
