Region V pocketed two medals in arnis in the secondary girls division during the third day of the 63rd Palarong Pambansa at the Marist High School Gymnasium in Marikina City yesterday.
Ashley Evon dela Torre, Rockquel Julienne Relorcasa and Melleiza Monteroso gave the Bicol Region the gold medal in the non-traditional synchronized espada y daga weapon category.
Ezrah Micah Parquez, Arianna Sayson and Rhian Nayre Emnace of Region IV-A settled for a silver medal with Region VI trio of Arreneah Alvarado, Margaret Jhade Langruto and Ferbelle Padrequil snagged the bronze medal.
The troika of Dela Torre, Relorcasa and Monteroso also pocketed a silver medal in the secondary girls non-traditional synchronized double weapon as the Cordillera Administrative Region struck gold in the event behind the trio of Princess Jorvina, Josela Maddawat and Grasher Lagunday.
Loriette Lontiong, Francyne Nicolas and Rejay Rosales of Region VI completed the podium with a bronze medal in the secondary girls non-traditional synchronized double weapon.
Region X won the elementary boys non-traditional synchronized espada y daga weapon category behind the efforts of Nilo Medel Jr., King Makibalo and Sean Pagarigan.
Region VI, composed of Nathan Balajadia, Melchor Bataican III and John Cagatan, got silver while Kurt Gandeza, Lourd Lima and Cyrion Sepi Jr. powered Region XII to the bronze medal.
The fourth day will see Karl Eldrew Yulo compete in the final of the secondary boys floor exercise, vault, mushroom, and horizontal bar in artistic gymnastics at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
Yulo, the younger brother of two-time world champion Carlos, dominated the individual all-around last Tuesday after scoring 46.25 points and was a crucial piece in the National Capital Region’s team all-around gold.
